The kitchen question has already been discussed extensively, but it is not just black and white here either. You can also visually divide it to separate the areas a bit and still maintain a sense of space.

A very successful example from recent days see:

Or these oversized "pass-throughs" that were popular in the 70s, etc. Or partially glazed (a colleague of mine placed these industrial glass U-profiles vertically), etc. Or you put cooking/dining on one side of the house, living on the other and in between the hallway with an adjacent office or similar (that's how I had it in my previous old apartment). Just as a suggestion to cause further confusion

It's not about the costs for me. I would like to hear some opinions here in advance. It can also happen to us with the architect that he implements our wishes, but both we and he perhaps didn't consider some basic things or didn't regard them as important.

Indeed ;)

Rather not: an independent architect proceeds systematically, he does not simply transfer wishes for a chimney, bay window, kitchen island, and other things into a building application drawing. Making sure that the fundamental things are not overlooked is exactly what he has studied.

That is clear to me. Still, what we say, what he understands, and what he implements in planning don't always have to be the same :p

If we decide to go to a freelance architect, we certainly won't lay the printed plans on the table first.

So: I took our draft and redrew the ground floor in an app on the tablet (at least as best as I could). There might still be an error here or there.

In doing so, I left out the kitchen walls to eliminate the long corridor.

Important: I just placed the kitchen furniture as it was. It EXPRESSLY does not represent a kitchen design. I was only concerned with the draft featuring an open kitchen. This could certainly be implemented in many different ways. The cloakroom is now initially its own room because we would like it that way.

Thoughts?
