Don't worry, I'm still here :p. I don't need valerian either. As I wrote above, we are currently thinking intensively about how it would be with an open kitchen. Before we go back to the BU or a freelance architect, I want to have thoroughly discussed this topic here and understand where the disadvantages of our current design are.

Since the attic will not be converted, I would still consider planning the living area open up to the gable. I think it simply creates a WOW effect that works with bungalows.

For what exactly? - with a freelance architect you don't need it, and with the turnkey contractor it will do you little good. The HOAI does not provide discounts just because the client brings what they consider to be a half-finished plan.
