I assume the difference between the gross/net window heights is due to the 25 cm high roller shutter box?
Yes, exactly!
I'm glad you continued your house thread today as well.
Yes, it was pretty much deserted. Soon there will be a photo of the fence.
Does your wife allow you to show the finished kitchen?
Hehe, once it's finished, I think so.
At the moment the baseboard is still missing. Somehow I messed up with the parapet heights and cabinet heights. We wanted a countertop running into the window reveal and I managed that. The problem is that the baseboard height is now 15 cm. With IKEA standard legs and baseboards only 12 cm is possible.
I found legs, but such high baseboards only come in silver (we wanted gray, maybe white). For custom cutting, it's again too narrow (from 20 cm), so I either have to take silver after all (and maybe repaint), cut it myself (which won't be really straight with me), or have the local carpenter cut it (which will be expensive). Also, I bought some parts wrong (I had ordered and picked up the fronts in Poland, something seems to have gotten mixed up). That means drawers are missing, or the fronts for them.
At the moment I lack motivation and we also have other construction sites (not at the house).
By the way, I had a fixed schedule in mind for the kitchen planning. Apart from the fact that no one else sticks to it, I should have placed the cooktop one cabinet further to the right. If the current countertop ever reaches the end of its lifespan, I will probably make that shift. There is simply too little workspace between sink and cooktop.
Would you also, like @Nordlys, design the staircase in a next house so that it goes fully up to the attic?
Without a basement, I think so, although I would be okay with just a pull-out ladder to a pure storage attic if you could at least move there without acrobatics and place more than two shelves at 1.70 height. Keep in mind that such a staircase also has its price and just switching to standard beech because of the attic – well, if it’s hidden behind a door – okay. But then rather a space-saving staircase or at least full width but just one flight and steep.
But I am already quite annoyed that the photovoltaic system will suffer because of the “instead-want-hip-roof” fashion trend, I fashion victim.
