For the remaining living room definitely the best solution. But the office is quite "awkward".

Yes, furnishing is not easy. I wonder what the planner had in mind.

The planner was probably less interested in that. On such a plan, a large room just looks nice at first .. then some table and sofa are indicated. It's only the resident who thinks about things like the correct TV position, etc. ;) ;).

This is how it looks I am currently leaning towards this option: At the bottom left, i.e. where the chimney is, to make a square and the door in This way we still have the option to place the TV to the right of the balcony and the sofa against the office wall. Upstairs I then have space for a reading corner etc

That’s why I deliberately kept quiet at first, because I hoped that a closed office was a crazy idea. But it isn’t. I would have preferred an open solution. Now I would also prefer my solution ;) However, it may be that Badneuling wants to buy all new furniture but has something completely different in mind than what I want to suggest with my drawing. While I am thinking in a Scandinavian light style, a bulky version of a sofa will certainly make a strange impression. An inset room within the room only turns the living/dining area into compromises: one must not forget that. Only the office person benefits, namely having a closed workplace. I am surprised that for several years so much costly frill is being done ;)

... can you sketch that from post 69, I don't understand what you are trying to achieve.

For the 5 years, I also much more see that a workplace will be set up in the bedroom. A walk-in closet does not necessarily have to be. Tearing out the tiles because of 5 years I also find quite meticulous. High-quality carpet tiles also do the job for the time.
