So. Today there was telephone. Landline. Plus DSL or FTTH, better said. From the application in February until 4.12. it took. The technician came at nine and complained about the electrician that he only laid a telephone cable, no CAT cable. The modem in the utility room was quickly installed. But then further. Actually not my job, he said. But with the telephone cable we can't get the signal from the utility room to her office. He sold me a Devolo starter package solution, also installed it right away for a small tip, set up the router, speed test 45000 and 9500 with a 50000 contract is ok. Everything runs. Router in the office. WLAN throughout the house. 150,- extra. Got lucky again. What he installed there, however, I don't understand. Something like we take the three phases of the power cables instead of Cat. Karsten

Exactly. The signal is sent through the power grid. Of course, it is very susceptible to interference and, in new buildings, in my opinion, an absolute no-go.

Yep - you might as well use Wi-Fi. That saves two devices (the Devolo D-Lan adapters), their power consumption and susceptibility. It won’t be much slower either. The 50mbit from the router shouldn't be a problem anyway.

Or is there another reason for the network in the office besides passing through the internet?

In my experience (previous rental apartment, now at my parents') the Devolo powerline devices are stable. (Of course, a CAT cable would be better in a new building, but Nordlys already knows that, AFAIK we have discussed this topic here before ...).

Have also had good experience with dLan in stock. Of course, it delivers a gigabit link, but for streaming in the home network it was absolutely sufficient. For internet browsing, it will do as well.

It is what it is. Since we can't retroactively get any more [Katzenkabel] in here, it might not be the worst solution. The PC, which is also used professionally, is connected to the network by cable, the [eiföhns] and [pätts] via Wi-Fi. I read up on Wiki about what [dlan] is, but still didn't understand anything. But, I don't have to know why this induction stove cooks, if it even does.
