Have the architect create a different floor plan for you! The roof terrace is a space that was "above" in the drawing and will be above in the house. You don't want a shower in front of the window either. The living room is too large - the square meters do fill the open space but do not make it bigger. You have many options downstairs, for example, swap guest room and kitchen, a recess to the south, rotate the stairs so that the square meters can be arranged more sensibly. And the same applies upstairs.

That sounds like design without consideration of the difference between habitus and attitude. Seriously: always style first, then apply makeup

I don't find the draft a disaster, but it doesn't fit your wishes at all. I read "piano," but instead I see a roof terrace that no one wanted. I would think intensively about the layout again. Could the office possibly be in the basement with a light well or upstairs instead of the roof terrace? In return, a living room with a piano separate from the spacious kitchen/dining area and a proper pantry? I don't want to go into details—there are plenty of options. But if your gut already says this isn't it, then it isn't.

So, after a few weeks of abstinence (and intensive brainstorming), here is a completely new draft proposal. What do you think of the planning? I have roughly created the rooms/room layout/floor plan and would like to hear your opinion before I pass the plan on to the architect for the "detailed work."

The house is planned with two full floors (or a high knee wall) and a shallow gable roof (converted attic). The bay window on the ground floor (kitchen/dining area) is to be developed as a flat roof and serve as a balcony for the 1st floor.

The exterior design is inspired by a show house we once saw.

What do you think of the room layout? Also compared to the first draft... Suggestions for improvement?

Well, now that's what I call a transformation; although the term "inspired" is a bit of an understatement.

Hm .... should the pantry also be a technical room or where should the building services etc. go?

The exit from the pantry to the hallway could be critical or even impossible with the 1/4 spiral staircase above.

What is the shaft or something like that in the pantry ... which, by the way, with its 3 doors offers hardly any storage space.

The fireplace at the staircase probably makes the passage very narrow ... what kind of fireplace did you imagine there?

I think there is still too much roof terrace. Instead, around the staircase about 12 sqm of space, which basically has no use at all.

I find the master bedroom with 340 cm width for the bed actually too narrow considering the size of the house.
