Thank you for the tips, I'll take a look at it. You surely meant burglary risk? For us, it would also mean that we would have to secure the whole thing so that the children don't fall into the ditch and can't get out again.

Hello Lassemann,

a really stupid question:

Your guest room is in the basement, right?

What about a (now required) second escape route from there? (Couldn't find anything on the plan).

Our guest room is also in the basement, but it has a light well in front of the window. We received specific requirements from the building authority for this: On the one hand, we had to enlarge the window (rescue window) and on the other hand, ensure that the light well has a maximum slope of 45° so that the room can be "evacuated" via this way in an emergency.

Regards,

Dirk

@Dirk

That would have been my question in connection with my last post as well; how good that I still saw your contribution. You were faster

I had already googled that, it really looks great!
Bauexperte, what is a PH building?
You wouldn’t have to use something like that for all rooms (like storage, technical rooms etc.), but I can imagine it’s really great for the bathroom, playroom, and fitness room.
Overall, that must be cheaper than a light well with slopes and all that, right?

Lassemann, sorry for going off-topic

Hello,

Passive house construction; sorry.

A heliobus of reasonable size used to cost - as long as it had to be imported from Switzerland - about EUR 2,000 to 2,500. I would like to assume that today it comes out roughly the same as the complete construction of a slope. Sorry, I haven’t spoken to the salesperson here for quite a while; I simply forward relevant inquiries.

Rhenish greetings

Actually, the warmth in the bedroom, I just noticed there’s a roof terrace attached, hadn’t noticed that before o.o ?! Anyway, so you have a larger glass surface on the south side, which also means the room will warm up more. Also, the bed is placed directly in front of this window front. I always had the balcony at the bedroom too... never used it, just looks nice but that’s the truth. No one goes out on the balcony in a bathrobe in the morning. Also, this nice part of the house is thus completely privatized, or do you want your guests always trampling through the bedroom to enjoy the amazing view? The room is 27 sqm so maybe something is possible with a clever partition wall. I’m just thinking about how it could be done, but that’s a matter of taste. It just occurred to me!

Fireplace.

So for me there are basically 3 options.

You could do without the door between dining and living room. Just make a passage there and use a fireplace with a see-through combustion chamber. The advantage is that when dining, for example with guests at a goose feast, your fireplace fire can be admired.

Another option would be to install a three-sided fireplace at the end of the partition wall between living room and dining, which would then protrude somewhat into the living area.

3rd option would be near the stairway wall in the living room. Disadvantage is less space there, but more in the current location and possibly better variation options for the placement of the audio equipment, see problem entrance and living room which I already mentioned!
