I also think that it is hardly possible with 1-2 children. Nevertheless, one has to have the consideration or insight. Contributions about what it means to invest so much money in own work help with that.

However, the question was not entirely without self-interest either. We have no children yet. And are at a similar point with similar considerations. But I do not want to steer the thread towards us!!!

Of course, they do not fall flat – the situation of the people I quoted was – without wanting to go into it here – certainly at least just as "tense."

Our limits are in our own heads. You simply can’t impose them on others. If the decision was made against such a project, that would be completely normal. But that doesn’t mean it wouldn’t be feasible.

I built and launched an NPS customer loyalty program including programming and training with a small team within 6 weeks. Everyone said that would take at least a year. Currently, we see how quickly a supplementary budget in an enormous amount passes through the Bundestag and Bundesrat within a few days. A few weeks ago everyone would have said that was impossible.

Impossible sounds absolute but in practice is apparently a very relative term.

We are currently learning very clearly that "planning security" is a misleading term. There is always a chance to fail. Those who mentally accept this achieve more. Those who think in full insurance policy dimensions achieve less.

I have now looked around a bit more and I think I have found something, namely at Town & Country.

The house would be the town villa Flair 124. I estimate the following costs:

House: 186k in the basic version (including a buffer of 30k): 216k
Additional construction costs: 40k
Remaining for the plot: 150k

Then there are still the carport and outdoor facilities missing, but those will just have to wait a few years. I think this is realistic.

You still don't know what basic equipment means, do you? That's really not standard, especially not with Town & Country as a budget provider.

And a buffer is something different from an upgrade.

To get the house somewhat habitable, easily 100,000 euros more. Then additionally another 30-50k euros for buffer. That will also be gone...

Unfortunately! These brochure prices are all bait and switch. In the construction service description, everything sounds okay at first or maybe even great, but if you really deal with it, you will quickly realize that the standard is simply not sufficient.

@TE: Don’t worry that you don’t recognize this. I didn’t at the beginning either.

Does not have to be a bad provider because of that, there are many who have had good experiences with Town & Country (and also some with bad experiences). You will by far not get by with the calculated price alone.
