Of course, I thank everyone for all the comments, and that is noted at the top of the comment. I commented specifically regarding the one-story rule. Regarding the staircase, the client wanted a staircase in the living area. It will be a cantilever staircase. There was also the consideration to change the direction of the stairs and go up from the hallway, but somehow that won't work. We want the children's rooms to be the same size since we have twins, and it would be difficult if one room were larger than the other. That really was fast, 4 weeks and the permit was there. When it comes to constructive criticism, I am very grateful. But there are comments that nobody needs.

According to NRW building law, if the upper floor is less than 75% of the ground floor's footprint, it is not considered a full storey. This has also been observed here.

Exactly because of the neighbor. We had to build a bungalow. Honestly, I don’t understand that. To the neighbor, who is lower, there are 7 meters to the property boundary. And if you build 3-4 meters away from the boundary, that makes 10-11 meters. I mean, that should be enough distance to a 7.75 m high building.

About the dressing room in front of the bedroom, my wife absolutely wanted to avoid that. So that you don’t first get lost in a narrow corridor and then enter the bedroom. Regarding the children’s rooms, as said, we wanted to have them as equal in size as possible for twins. And it was only possible on the NW side. That’s why we have larger windows here so they could have enough light.

Yes, with this floor plan it doesn’t work any other way.
Nevertheless: in my room I glazed the entire gable, facing east with a loggia, so a 1 meter balcony in front, roughly 12 sqm... that felt too little to me because no sun shone in. At least not when I was home as a child/teenager.
Maybe one could have played a bit of Tetris with the rooms there. In principle, though, it’s a nice house inside (if you then position the piano somewhere else ;) )
