Well, I find the increase from 15,000,- € to 30,000,- € for Kfw 40+ quite significant? I used our current costs for electricity and heating as a reference value and also included this in the plan (250,- €), which would probably be somewhat lower for KFW 55 as well. However, I do see a greater savings potential with KFW 40+ due to the photovoltaic system with storage; not 150,- € per month compared to KFW 55, but I would expect about 80-100,- € less (especially in the area of electricity, I see the difference in heating costs as not so great).

Don't find the lifestyle change so dramatic. We are also used to several vacations a year in the (insgesamt) five-figure range. Now we are cutting back or not traveling at all because I want to be on-site during the house renovation. But it doesn't bother me at all because I know what I'm getting in return. And in the future, thanks to the large garden with a pool, I won't need any vacation anymore.

That is definitely correct, however, I would also be entering into a certain dependency relationship with the employer here, and I don’t know if that is particularly wise. I think this would, for example, also affect future salary negotiations. Moreover, there are always financially very lucrative attempts to poach employees, and here too I would lose some flexibility through the employer loan.

We see it quite similarly. Currently, we don't really have a garden and thus have significant restrictions which we partially compensate for with vacations.

I was always used to having a very large garden in my parents' house and know the advantages all too well. Of course, it's not directly comparable to a vacation, but there is a different kind of peace and relaxation which is definitely equivalent to a vacation.

With the additional background information, it definitely sounds doable.

That is of course correct and you have to evaluate it for yourself.
