Hello everyone,

this is a house on a hillside. The ground floor is supposed to offer a small granny flat for 1 person, which can be seen quite well on the plans. Since we do not want any rooms without windows, the utility room is located at the back of the house. I don’t find that bad in itself. The room is also chosen somewhat larger because a small workbench will be added here.

Thanks for the feedback so far. My main concern is just to hear whether this can be done or if it is an absolute "no-go." The architect and shell builder apparently see no problems. I myself, as a layperson, was only made aware of this by the [Stadtwerke].

Or how do you do it otherwise with houses without a basement?

Of course the architect sees no problems. He planned it that way. The shell builder certainly doesn't. Hopefully, he does what he's paid for. Usually, the HAR is planned towards the street/the utilities. If that doesn't work, you just accept longer lengths for routing around the house.

A bit below the slab and then by means of a multi-utility entry.

So my utility room is also located on the side away from the street and the pipes for the multiple feed introduction run about 6 meters under the floor slab. My electricity provider even suggested it that way, the construction company actually wanted to run it out under the floor slab in the shortest way and then lay it around the house.

So, in summary, it's really just about the warranty, and the municipal utilities simply don't want to take the risk in case something breaks. I understand. Sure, it's not the "gold standard," but you always make some compromises. On the other hand, technically speaking, using the right pipes, you can still replace the media lines if you ever have to for some reason?
