wow... I did not receive an email notification and wanted to check if anyone had said anything about it and then I read 4 pages with only useful information! Thanks!!

Our site manager wants to do it the way you described. We are building without a basement using KS and WDVS. Here is a rough drawing of how it is supposed to be done:

If we want to fully form the base slab, it will cost about 4k more. That was just an estimate and you would have to ask the structural engineer. We do not know how expensive it would be to insulate only the base slab in this example. However, he says that, for example, 4k would bring more in WDVS or the roof. The insulation of the base slab is only included with 0.5 in the total value and is not needed for frost protection.

We are not building with a general contractor, so we would have to settle the additional costs with the structural engineer. How this will affect the statics is of course another matter.

Your example is Image 2 and yes, as a rule that is completely sufficient, since the loss downwards is only minimal. Additionally, you will definitely get insulation inside under the underfloor heating.

Maybe I have to add that here in SH, ETICS buildings are rather exceptions: mostly brick facades, secondly monolithically plastered Ytong facades, third mostly wooden houses. ---Then there is a long pause and then occasionally Poroton with ETICS. Karsten

No, you don't have to, the structure on the base slab is not really relevant for the insulation of the base slab.

Well, be that as it may. In practice, you don’t really notice the missing Xps boards under the slab and on the strip, because neither the floor nor the wall is particularly cold. So gray is all theory and colorful is life.

It's like with the weather map: the more red, the warmer. In other words, the heat losses without any insulation are the highest and with insulation under the floor slab the lowest. Frost skirt is just the middle ground.
