Of course, it is possible to install floor-to-ceiling windows without a visible lintel. The inspection box is then inside directly at the height of the concrete ceiling.
However, it is more complex. That requires a lot of steel. My 3.2m wide raffstores have 42cm thick reinforced concrete baskets as lintels. A structural engineer will calculate the necessary measures for you.
With a wooden beam ceiling, of course, that becomes difficult. So it depends again on the individual project.

Because I was asked about 'DIY', no, I did not create the structural calculations myself, but had them calculated. However, that is actually required by law in Germany.

Regarding the windows, I chose Schüco profiles, qualitatively somewhat better than Veka and the like.
Anyone who has an immense amount of money should inquire with the company Skyframe from Switzerland. They install nearly frameless windows. But they also simply cost at least twice as much and you also need a suitable window manufacturer.

Hello Eberhard,

I am happy to help you. You could also have your house built more cheaply according to your architect's plan. There are numerous construction companies, including abroad, that build significantly cheaper. The price per sqm is around €1200, as an example. How can I reach you by phone?

Best regards

Jasmina

If you say so ... :D It mainly depends on the installer and not the profile manufacturer (from a certain level onwards).

Do you want to lower the entire ceiling by 25cm? That means from 270 to 245? I would never do that in my life. Or do you have a clear room height of 295cm so that you still have a buffer down to 270cm? Is 25cm enough for you? Several window manufacturers I have spoken to say that blinds with a length of 240cm require a box of about 30cm. With 270cm high windows, surely a 25cm box is not enough... hm.....???? Could you please sketch that? Unfortunately, my imagination is a bit limited here

there is not only Skyframe in Switzerland. The costs are also not just twice as high if the windows are to be frameless…

The ceilings will be lowered from 295 to 270. I wouldn’t do it from 270 to 245 either.

The windows are from Südtirol Fenster - they have their own system (ISO Bloc), where all components (windows, insulation, shading, etc.) are assembled in the factory. This way, the venetian blind boxes are smaller. They also have great (almost) frameless windows, which we will be using.
