Alright, 900,000 for the house and the garage. With the current price increases, I would plan for a good safety buffer as well.

...I also don't believe that the price will stay the same once the individual trades have "submitted" their bids.

And then there's the real estate transfer tax on the entire amount again... Delicious!

Someone has to pay our taxes!
Besides the high diesel prices, the state is also rubbing its hands nicely here ;)

Fits, provided you now add a safety buffer for your own good. This is a big house in a not-so-favorable area, so one shouldn't be surprised about seven-figure sums. It was already clear that your originally hoped-for 600 K would never fit.

Phew... That's a big deal. For us, it became significantly more expensive from the initial rough estimate to the actual offers from both requested companies. So either increase the budget or lower the expectations. I just don't understand where the extreme cost difference with your sister comes from.

Hello, sorry for my late response. We have now decided to obtain counteroffers from other construction companies/trades. Just so we know that the general contractor does not want to rip us off. Just with the windows alone, there is already a difference of 50K compared to the general contractor, and I think this will continue throughout. What do you think, should I show the general contractor the other offers and have him then calculate with those, or is that not possible? He advertises with individual planning, and if I would rather have the shell construction from company XY (because I know them), then he should be able to implement that too, right?
