Cost of house connection for Kabel Deutschland and Telekom?

Thanks for the tip about the length - I'll ask again right away. Of course, the civil engineer is on company holiday - Telekom also wanted to know whether there is already a conduit under the driveway or not (but at least according to the lady, only so they can plan). That will definitely be done after moving in (February) ... but that's fine, I can live with that - we have mobile phones and I carry internet on my laptop anyway. I was more afraid that another strange bill over 3000+ € would be due because somehow the street needs to be newly concreted.

The builders' hotline caused us no problems at all, just like everything else with Telekom. It cost us no nerves. It was 399 euros for us as well, but we still signed a contract. My wife's company pays for it anyway, and we don't need more than working internet and phone with 3 numbers (private, office, and fax in the office). Unfortunately, it didn't work so well with the two previous providers.

Just called again.... since July 1st apparently no extra costs for additional meters either.

Unitymedia requires patience, since August we have been in their planning department and despite inquiries nothing happens. It doesn't matter, the empty conduit is exposed and it is not urgent.

Unitymedia is, I believe, 950 EUR if you don't sign a contract directly. I decided against it for the time being. Has anyone of you had it installed?

Does anyone know what kind of cable Telekom lays to the house? Is it always the fast fiber optic cable, regardless of what is currently available on the street, or might it have to be upgraded later?

Always copper cable and fiber optic only if you order it and it really lies there at the street (which is unfortunately far too rarely the case).
