If my hint regarding omitting individual planning was understood, the construction proposal programs of the potential providers should by now have been searched for models of the desired kind: successfully? Now don’t confuse me here with facts ;-) Oh, did they finally chase the mayor away from , and now he landed with you? – that sounds very much like "Schilda at its best" *LOL*

Hearsay - is always especially credible … You haven’t had any yet, don’t know the technology, have never been a property owner, but you blurt out that you don’t want any. Yeah… sure

The appropriate model has already been found and the respective model was always approached directly with the provider. are there any other advantages besides being able to water your garden with it? o.O

We had 2 offers for a cistern in the range of 5.5k and 6k with pump, earthworks, and everything.

My parents had water costs of €100 in 2020. However, only a part of that applies to the garden.

For €6000, they can currently water their garden for 100 years.
Maybe the water price will change sometime when the big droughts come or there are much cheaper cisterns than our offers, but otherwise, I don’t see how a cistern can be economically viable for anyone.

Yes, of course. The old folks also still use salad water for flushing. (Seriously.) ;) And the €100 is also not a "normal consumption": calculated backwards at about €5 (water/sewage) per m³, we end up at 54 liters per day. That means the toilet is only flushed in the morning and evening or salad water is used. If you have a large garden with plants or want a great lawn (or both), you need water, you need a lot of water. A cistern can be worthwhile if it has a corresponding capacity. From about 20,000 liters. For the lawn, you also need a sprinkler system, like our neighbor has. Only, strangely, he mostly waters the lawn by hand with the hose. Somehow the toy he installed doesn't seem to work properly.
