It is simply bitter to see what a divorce with children triggers. I experienced it myself as a child. Anyone who thinks it can be easily solved through a lawyer either does not know what that can mean because they have not experienced it themselves or is a somewhat more empathetic person. I do not want to be in your/your exes’/the children’s shoes. Deepest condolences. Seriously. I can only hope it turns out well. For me, all this, which began over 35 years ago, ended in a legal dispute against my father that cost me and my wife over €50,000. And we lost. Being right and getting justice are unfortunately not always the same. If at all possible, try to find another way.

Her partner had tried for the children to act as intermediaries, which apparently did not work.
In my opinion, it was also foreseeable because especially the children cannot view this objectively detached from emotions and are usually already in a dilemma themselves.
