Yep, that's why I wrote that this is no longer a normal standard of living. I'm glad I never took the step with the PKV.

Maximum rate for statutory health insurance is also more than 600€ - and just because half of it is borne by the employer, it doesn't mean that you don't still pay it (indirectly). It just means there is less room for maneuver in salary negotiations...

@ Bauherren 2014

Thanks again for your explanations. It has already helped me, and yes, the health insurance with 200 euros only concerns my lady. Since she has to insure herself privately. But the children could still be covered with me in the statutory insurance, right? As a buffer, there are still 150 euros left per month and also the 2 savings plans that are still being paid in on the side.
We are aware that when the time comes, we won't be able to jump for joy anymore, but I think it should be possible with our current financial situation. But you were already right, to calculate everything in instead of calculating differently. Now you know where you stand and what you can repay monthly without stomach aches (with slight stomach aches).

Thanks in advance to everyone else as well

Currently, most home financing calculators on the internet show me that a loan amount of 250,000€ would be okay with the monthly rate. But you said that this will probably be difficult to achieve even without a basement. Is 25,000€ as own contribution realistic if you have 2 electricians, bricklayers, carpenters, heating (water) installers in the family or circle of friends and you yourself are not clumsy? I plan to finish the house within 2 years, since I have no time pressure and don’t have to move out of the rent. Thus, I always see time as an advantage for the own contribution.

Today it goes on to the next topic or lecture "Energy-Efficient Building"

To be honest, I don’t find the 1,000 EUROS much now, it works out for us too. 2 adults and 2 children (2.5 and 5.5 years).

We have been keeping a very meticulous household book for about 3 years now and on average we need about 2,000 EUROS per month. This includes all groceries and other everyday necessities, clothes for the whole family, canteen food, phone, mobiles, fuel for 2 cars as well as a yearly vacation (about 3,500 EUROS).

In addition, there are fixed costs of about 650 EUROS. These include 74 EUROS and 148 EUROS for kindergarten (yes, okay, in not all cases you can get a nanny so cheaply or pay no kindergarten fees like, for example, in RP!!!), all insurances, car tax, club fees, garbage, etc....

And then there are about 300 EUROS for additional housing costs. These include heating costs, water, cable TV, and reserves. The apartment is 110 sqm in size!

And then there is the loan for the apartment of 800 EUROS.

And I’d claim now that we certainly do not live extravagantly. At most, we might treat ourselves to a meal out at a pub about once every six months!

: If you’re interested in our costs in detail, contact me via PM. I can check the exact costs in our list this evening!
