I am surprised by your low costs for groceries. We spend about 1000 euros per month (with two children) on groceries (and whatever else you buy at the supermarket). However, the two eat at least as much as two adults. In addition, there are expenses for school and sports of about 130 euros and of course money for leisure activities (swimming pool, ice skating, going dancing, etc.). Then you also have to buy a new bike more often (the children grow quickly) and it shouldn’t be the cheapest junk either. There is always something related to the children that costs money. Our son went skiing in Austria with his class for two years in a row, which cost us at least 600 euros each time. Then there are all the wishes children naturally have and that you want to fulfill for them partly... it’s definitely all quite expensive.

Best regards Sabine

1000 euros?????? We are only three people and the stinker is only 16 months old, but we spend almost 300 euros on groceries...at least that's what is on our household account. Let's say 400 euros, because you sometimes pay cash for a bread or something like that.

But 1000 euros?

That's only 10 euros per day, which usually isn't even enough for a lunch here (unless it's spaghetti). How is a family supposed to get by on 10 euros a day?

Best regards

The reason why all the plots in the metropolitan areas are taken is due to foreign investors. They are currently also buying B and C properties and space because a high dividend is expected. Therefore, looking at rural areas is certainly not wrong. However, due to the logical distortion of the market, prices in the commuter belts are rising massively. For this reason, other alternatives should also be considered. This also applies to construction financing itself. The banks know exactly how long interest rates will remain low. However, they will not pass on this advantage to the customers. Because branch banks try to generate maximum profits this way.

By living economically? We are both employed (wife part-time), our child is then with the daycare provider, where of course meals are also provided. That costs 2 euros a day for breakfast and lunch - all freshly prepared. So it seems possible even there.

With 1000 euros, that's over 30 euros per day - I do wonder what quantities one eats there or whether one only shops at the delicatessen.

Our children eat at least as much as adults, so we practically have to feed four adults. I have never been to a delicatessen, but we eat vegetarian, which is not always cheap either. My husband eats lunch in the canteen, my son often in the school cafeteria. Drinks also have to be paid for. We also eat a lot of fruit, which is not cheap either. You can hardly count a toddler’s food costs properly yet; when my daughter was that age, she mainly breastfed, which was very cheap. I would also be happy if it were cheaper, but I don’t see any possibility for that.

Best regards
