Everything that the coalition has decided in its contract is subject to financing reservations. If Lars next year realizes "Oops, we're missing 30 or 40 billion euros," such things might be scaled back overnight... that has already happened in the previous government...

I would fundamentally only rely on what I have been assured in writing and not wait if that were a central component of my financing...

One must not forget that reputable experts like Sönke Neitzel or Carlo Masala actually consider it possible that we are experiencing the last summer of peace in Europe or in the EU/NATO right now. Rarely has the outlook on the future been as unclear as it is at the moment...

[Rarely has the view into the future been as blurry as it is at the moment...] Rarely have we had such a high willingness to get upset about everything and everyone as we do today, and rarely has the debate about what we want to achieve culturally as a society been as quiet as it is today. We generate part of the blurriness ourselves. We home builders are an important factor, but not the only one. The living situation for people in Germany requires many more affordable small housing units than before. If politics were to focus on that, they would be objectively correct. The promotion of single-family house construction is nice to boost the economy a little. In the course of the unprecedented subsidies and the extremely low interest rates, construction costs rose disproportionately. Some benefited from this, not society. Single-family house subsidies do not solve the problem of affordable housing. Nobody wants to hear that who dreams of owning their own home. As builders, even with seemingly small projects, we do not operate in the realm of "self-evident things," but in that of luxury.

Luxury? That should be a matter of course for large parts of society, even if the left-green ideology wants to make us believe otherwise.

The budget plan is set so far (expected to be passed in September) and the Ministry of Construction has published the following:
[*]The program funds for the new construction programs "Climate-friendly new construction" (1.1 billion euros each in 2025 and 2026), "Climate-friendly new construction in the low-price segment" (650 million euros each in 2025 and 2026) and "Homeownership support for families" (250 million euros each in 2025 and 2026) are to be provided from the new special fund Infrastructure and Climate Neutrality.
So there is money available, the question is whether and how the subsidies will be restructured. It is supposed to be simplified and streamlined; since Hubertz is a fan of timber construction, there could be a bonus for that.

That is unfortunately complete nonsense. The affordability index for property was 39.8 in 2024, after a low around 30 between 2012 and 2020. In 1980, this value was still at 100. If people would just leave out all the useless stuff and even use a tool themselves once in a while, a small house would still be possible for many today. A small one, mind you... I built my house for a good 350,000 EUR. 152m², so 2,300 EUR/m². I don't even reach 3,000 when I include the garden. It will have cost me about 30, 35,000 EUR in the end... but I did most of it myself as well...

I am in favor, if first it is ensured that everyone can live with dignity. This has nothing to do with left-green, but with the Basic Law. Already the first article of the Basic Law "Human dignity shall be inviolable." requires that the weaker ones must be considered. Incidentally, there is no "left-green ideology." That is just hollow framing. Name a source in which the dogmas belonging to this ideology are established and justified within a worldview. There are ideologies regarding capitalism, communism, libertarianism, and fascism.
