I would place the fireplace exactly there as well, although you can still choose which format/model fits best. For example, we chose one with an Adelstahl external chimney, which also saves space inside, looks quite nice in my opinion, and does not run through the upper floor. I actually like the second version of the above representation almost better.

boaaaah. Well, I think to myself every time "how terrible" when I see houses with a chrome exterior chimney...

Well, the subtle (?) difference between divider, separator, and splitter might be worth a closer look ;-) Then unfortunately the architect herself is only a placeholder :-(

I know what you mean, but like with many things, it has - at least for me - something to do with the individual design. Often, such a thing is slapped onto the house wall afterwards, which I also often don’t like. You can come by for an espresso sometime ;). We were offered one anyway, powder-coated in black or something like that. Nothing has been decided yet, we want to take a look at it first soon, but we like the idea. We probably also want a complete wooden cladding on the outside..... it will be fine :D... and if it actually turns out ugly, you don’t have to pay for your coffee.

I (unfortunately) don’t know of any house where I like this solution, but I’m happy to be proven wrong ;). Aside from the fact that the chimney also has a certain heat radiation to warm the house, which is not the case with an external chimney.

I only know this because of a necessary permit. Acquaintances of ours have a wood stove and oil heating connected to one flue. If the heating is now or would be replaced, simultaneous operation with a wood stove on one flue is no longer permitted and an external chimney would also have to be installed. Whether this is actually the case is beyond my knowledge. Perhaps exceptions are possible under certain conditions.
