The bathroom(s) have become so large because we wanted to ensure the comfortable use of the bathrooms with a wheelchair in mind. According to DIN there are certain requirements for turning and maneuvering a wheelchair user.
According to the architect, the children’s rooms get enough light, one through the window in the west, the other through the window in the east. Now I’m a bit uncertain about the light incidence... Does anyone else perhaps have an opinion on that? The windows could possibly also be planned a little wider. I don’t know if that would significantly change the brightness.

The plot was fully developed, which alone cost 232,000 euros. Hence the high total price.

Oh, so the plot is already included in the total budget. That certainly explains it. I thought that was only the price for building including additional construction costs, because usually only the construction costs are listed here.

Hello again. We don’t get evening sun with this terrace version? When the sun sets in the west, it should shine on our terrace. In the late hours, it is no longer visible under the roof overhang of the terrace, that makes sense. We had thought we could just move the table and chairs a bit forward and then sit in the evening sun again. Or are we mistaken in this assumption?

It's not about whether it's enough. It's about the fact that your bed needs less light than the children do when playing. Best to test it yourself. Stand during the day in your south-facing room in your apartment and then in the north-facing room. Now ask yourself where you would rather play as a child. And it's winter sometimes, too.

Yo. It has less to do with the roof, but rather with the house’s overhang behind which it then disappears. As long as there is a wall in the west, there is no west sun. Logical.

So I can understand that you want to wash the laundry where it accumulates and not carry it through the whole house to wash/put away. When I was a child, I always had to carry the laundry from the first floor down to the basement and back, and I never want to do that again. Otherwise, I would consider whether you need a bed for overnight guests 5 times a year or if the couch would also do. Alternatively, there are inflatable beds that you could set up in the living room or office. Otherwise, I agree, children's room -> sunny side. Therefore, I would replan the upper floor.

That's how we did it. You simply remain more flexible. We set up tall shelves as room dividers. In front is the work area with washing machine, dryer, ironing board, laundry sorting. Storage is at the back. Although it is very full, you can get to everything easily.
