Once again on the topic of children's rooms: we have one with a window facing north and a skylight in the west, which is always sufficiently bright! Even in summer, even when the skylight blind is down.

And laundry room: I would like to remind you that most of the time during the day you spend downstairs. For me personally, it is simply more practical to be able to take care of the laundry downstairs as well. With two children, quite a lot accumulates and it would annoy me if I had to run upstairs 8 times a day to transfer something, etc. That often can’t wait. Transporting clean and dirty laundry, on the other hand, is patient. A basket is always taken along when going up or down anyway.

For us personally, a laundry room upstairs would not have been the right choice.

I really like having the laundry upstairs. The puke and poop accidents don’t have to be dragged through the house and we spend a lot of time upstairs, especially during the week. While saying "Mami let me, I can do it myself," the laundry is rearranged on the side. She does the washing alone while we are not at home. Our bedroom faces northwest, the children’s rooms southeast and southwest, and especially in autumn the two rooms stay light much longer and need light later. I notice it when I walk from the children’s rooms into the bedroom. I wouldn’t have thought so. The temperature difference between the rooms was 1 degree these days.

In summer it sets in the NW. In the west it is around 6/7 p.m... and if it is important to get sun in the evening, then you shouldn't plan a bay window that blocks the sun from 12. The shadow also gets longer in the evening...
Then you plan so that you don't have to rearrange furniture.
