Hello.
Does this mean that the painter has to clean the entire ceiling again and then repaint it?
How can I prove this?

Steven,
how is something like this remedied within the scope of a warranty?
Does the entire ceiling have to be sanded down and repainted?
Or only the part that is peeling?
That's a huge effort.
Can I also do it myself independently? So bill it fictitiously? I'm not as young anymore, but the kitchen is small.
Maybe 8m2 ceiling area.
I'm afraid for my kitchen furniture...

Good evening. But why is the paint only peeling off partially now (that is, 4 years after initial occupancy)? If the form oil was not properly removed (at that time), then the paint shouldn’t have held from the beginning, right? But I only noticed it about half a year ago? I find that strange

Hello fraubauer

When the ceiling formwork is set up, oil is sprayed on it so that the concrete forming the ceiling does not stick to the formwork. The oil must be removed before the ceiling is plastered. I don’t think the paint was applied directly to the concrete ceiling in your case. I would report this as a defect in writing and demand remediation, if the apartment is still under warranty. Normally, the plaster must be removed and reapplied. However, it might also be possible to generously remove the loose plaster and replaster just the affected area. But if the plaster is loose in other places as well, you’ll eventually have the same problem again.

Good evening Steven.
Thank you very much for the clear explanation.

So it really can be that the ceiling paint lasted almost 4 years, and now after 4 years part of a surface is loosening slightly?
Then I would have to check all my ceilings thoroughly.
Can this be tested otherwise, or is it just a visual inspection?
I thought the ceiling paint would peel off immediately if the release oil was not properly removed during the new construction.
Thank you very much

Hello fraubauer

first we need to clarify the terms:
Is the paint coming off the concrete, is the plaster coming off the concrete, or is the paint coming off the plaster.
Please take a photo and post it here.
