I don’t know if that exists as a new contract at the original poster’s place. He has to check himself. That depends on the region. With us, it would be available from the basic supplier. I wouldn’t worry about tendencies at the moment; nobody would have thought that such changes would happen last year. Maybe the war will be over at some point and there will be cheaper gas again, maybe our government will change course and not shut down the nuclear power plants or a new government will switch them back on? Maybe in 1 to 2 years there will be enough base-load capable offshore wind power?

When our pump was not well adjusted and it was also quite cold, the three of us used about 5500 kWh for our 150sqm, this winter, where it is better adjusted and it was partly warmer, it should be around 4000-4500 kWh. If you calculate with 6000 kWh, you should have a value with a sufficient buffer.

Even 4000 kW is very, very much for a heat pump for 150 m2.. something is seriously wrong there.

Probably household electricity is meant and only the heat pump is included?

Well, to be honest, I don’t find 4000 that crazy now. With an efficiency of 3, that’s 12,000 kW gas. It could well be that something still doesn't fit. A company installed it that was pretty clueless. But meanwhile, the manufacturer themselves has already been there several times for maintenance. Hot water is included as well. For the next one, the manufacturer will have to handle it right away. Hopefully, it lasts a few more years. It’s only 8 years old now.

I don't have to be a prophet to say this will not happen. On the one hand, because wind power is not baseload-capable. It simply lacks the possibility to regulate electricity production in a targeted manner. On the other hand, the capacities to install large numbers of wind turbines in a few years do not exist. And even with many wind turbines, the problem of calm periods remains, which in mid-winter automatically are also dark doldrums.
