Thank you very much for your feedback! And from a cost perspective? Am I overlooking something?

FTH connection 39.95 per month. With that, you have phone, internet, the media libraries, if you want netflix etc. And of course classic TV.

Maybe the question is whether you can switch equally well between the respective "opponent" (or a third party) in both cases. Because one thing is for sure: Telekom and Vodafone see each other as the most relevant competitors and will always have a fierce battle over who is cheaper for the next contract term (and neither will ever reward your loyalty). So always stay ready to jump – among other things by not letting yourself be tempted by any flat rates, and by booking the phone numbers with the supplier of the triple play feeder line at the same time – unless landline is unimportant to you. What does cell reception look like at the construction site (inside the house), measured with phones in D1 and D2?

Here in NRW, Vodafone (=UnityMedia, in BW = KabelBW) only installs fiber optic cables. How it is in BW? No idea ... With Vodafone, you get a little metal plate on the wall with the HÜP, from which the internal house wiring runs via at least 2-fold shielded coax (formerly often "thick" RG11) to the router. So often directly next door with a 1m cable. Then it continues as usual via LAN cable. Even the internal Telekom wiring is not really better, you only save that little piece of coax. Here too, you have to do the rest yourself (or have it done) ;-).

If you need IPV4 / Dualstack, go to Telekom, as it is included in the affordable private customer tariff; with UM / VF you have to book a business tariff for that. Otherwise, there is only DSLite / IPV6. Currently, UM offers a bit more in upload (with 500 down -> 50 up). Telekom mW only offers 40 even at 250MBit/s down.

I would rely on Telekom's fiber optic. Since last year, Telekom has also opened the network to other providers. O2, for example, already offers a tariff over Telekom's fiber optic because they agreed on a cooperation. I think more will follow. If Telekom does not do this voluntarily, the Federal Network Agency will regulate it.

What is important is a proper network in the house!
