Cable vs. Telecom Fiber Optic - Decision

I would prefer to ensure redundancy, for example in the form of prepaid 5G routers or similar. Apart from that, we have had 0.0 minutes of downtime over the past three years, across multiple providers and technologies. So the probability is rather low, and outages also occur with satellite. (We have had those more often.)

I have had a failure with Telekom exactly once in about 20 years now. At work, via cable Vodafone, several times a year. Previously, in the apartment, we did everything with DSL for 10 years. During those 10 years, there was the failure. For that reason, we have now refrained from laying fiber optic or cable for 20,000€ in the house. It works great.

Apart from that, we have had 0.0 minutes of downtime in the last three years across multiple providers and technologies. So the probability is rather low, and outages do happen with satellite as well.

I believe I had a single outage with Telekom in the past 20 years.

On New Year's Eve, someone in this small town knocked over a fiber optic distributor with various bar pressures on the boiler, resulting in a total outage in an entire district. Since today, it's running again. You can't even think so stupidly how it happened.
