Thanks first for your comments. I have now calculated it. The mentioned instant bonuses should actually be paid out 60 days after the start of delivery,

With electricity, I would still get back €41.26.
The payout date of the bonus would actually have been 01/30/2019.
If I add the "instant bonus" of €225, it is even €266.26 that I would still receive.

With gas, I would still have to pay €235.81.
The payout date of the bonus would be today, 02/04/2019.
Less the instant bonus of €150, there is still €85.81 to pay.

Now I could use 3 models for comparison:
1. Electricity and gas considered separately without instant bonuses
2. Electricity and gas considered separately with instant bonuses
3. Electricity and gas offset against each other without instant bonuses
4. Electricity and gas offset against each other with instant bonuses

1. With electricity, I would still get back €41.26 and with gas I have to pay €235.81.
I will never get my electricity credit back and I have to pay the full amount due.
I will have my last installment payment of €117 reversed.

2. With electricity, I would still get back €266.26 and with gas I have to pay €85.81.
I will never get my electricity credit back and I have to pay the full amount due.
I will have my last installment payment of €117 reversed. As a lead time, my previous installment payment on 12/06/2018 also applies.

3. From 1., I offset my electricity credit with the gas payment due. So I would still have to pay €194.55.

4. From 2., I offset my electricity credit with the gas payment due. So I would even get back €180.45.
I will have my last installment payment of €117 reversed. As a lead time, my previous installment payment on 12/06/2018 also applies.

To be honest, I am undecided whether I should/can/may include the bonuses or not.
Annoying, the whole thing...

Of course you include the bonuses? Only with them was this provider even shown as the cheapest on the relevant portals... why would you want to exclude them?

I would not be so sure about the bonus. With the strange insolvency law, it could be that you have to settle the claim and register the credit! That means lost twice

Yes, that's exactly my problem with the matter. As obvious as it may seem from a consumer's perspective, apparently it's not. I will definitely have the 2 installment payments reversed at the beginning of January.
