We have two 4 m Markilux cassette awnings with a 3 m projection, which were anchored using brackets in the concrete ceiling; the brackets bridge insulation wool + brick. The brackets were installed during construction (Markilux offers brackets specifically for this model), then insulation and brickwork followed. The inner wall shell is Ytong aerated concrete.

If the wall structure does not allow this statically, rollable sun sails (roller on support pillars with roller traverse or initially in front of the terrace; the sail is then pulled to the wall or support pillars) would be an alternative.
Provider includes, among others, Pina Sonnensegel.

This is also the best solution! During the construction phase, integrate brackets (e.g. Isokorb,...) directly into the concrete ceiling... However, you must decide in advance which awning, in which size, from which manufacturer you want, as the spacing of the brackets must also match this.

For example, we had two Schö** Isokorbs installed and ensured via adapter brackets that the mounting plate of the awning can be attached. However, this is not "plug & play" and requires significantly more detailed planning.

Well, during the planning phase I focused on many things, and everything worked out, but the awning somehow completely slipped my mind. I would have actually liked an overhang of the upper floor, but that was cut for cost reasons. But regardless, anchoring would not have been possible in our concrete ceiling because the roller shutter boxes are there (see attached picture). The matter is now with the architect, who is checking whether we could mount the awning on the reinforced concrete cover above the roller shutter box. In the meantime, I contacted another company that at least did not dismiss it right away. They would determine in advance, with appropriate calculations, how the awning could be attached to the brick. The calculations would be part of their scope of services. Now we have to wait for the offers and the architect's statement. What minimum angle of inclination would you consider for an awning? Because if we go into the concrete, the awning would hang at just about ~2.85m. With a 4m projection and the often cited 15° inclination (seriously???), I would bump my head every time, which is obviously out of the question...

Then I'm curious to see what kind of proposal comes from the architect... the one with the [Raffstores] is of course a challenge.

15 degrees tilt is standard... for example, Warema also has that. Only the manufacturer can say to what extent it is adjustable.
And at 4m fully extended and about 2.85m height, you still get 1.82m... The 1-2% slope of the terrace is not even included in that.

Statement from the architect is available. He has no concerns about hanging the awning on the concrete coating but could imagine that it would hang too low when fully extended.

Alternatively, he wouldn’t really have any concerns if it were installed with the appropriate certification from the executing company using these adhesive anchors in the masonry. He considers it much more important that the mounting brackets are not located directly under the upper floor window, as the load of the ceiling does not rest there. However, if the brackets are placed next to the upper floor window, he would have no problem with that.

We are currently searching as well. For our two-story house with a double-shell construction, the brackets are mounted on the solid clinker brick, and the fastening/anchoring goes through the clinker and insulation into the concrete slab (height fits). The power connection and the appropriate switch inside are already there, so we do not need/want any radio control from the awning manufacturer (we control it remotely ourselves via Fibaro Roller Shutter or similar behind the switch). We are looking for an awning without lighting, without a valance or other special features.

Our main requirements are a large width of at least 6.5m or better 7m (projection: 3.5m) as well as the desire for a full cassette in a plain rectangular box (no round shapes, no clearly visible brackets like on e.g., Markilux 5010/6000). For this, we have identified the following three candidates (all of which have not been available for very long):

- Weinor Kubata (only up to 6.5m width)
- Warema Terrea K70 (7m)
- Klaiber Camabox BX4500 (7m)

We visited two dealers and looked at the three models. According to the advice, occasional wetting of the awning is quite normal and not a problem (as long as you do not retract the wet awning for a longer period), and all should withstand wind up to wind force 5 (despite the size). The quoted prices including installation range between 5000 and 5600 euros.

Can anyone assess the quality of these three models or are these products equivalent? If we opt for the 7m width, there are still two models left, where we do not know the differences regarding especially construction/durability (according to Warema: probably a bit cheaper and the cassette is somewhat smaller than with Klaiber).
