Did you use a light gray?
We are also choosing a color tomorrow. I have already mentioned our 70s orange awning. That will no longer fit. I also want to be independent with cushions and such and will probably choose light gray.
I would be happy to receive a photo

Could you please tell me why the new house will be without awnings? I don’t really like awnings in private settings because visually they take up too much space on an average single-family house and, in my opinion, need quite a bit of open space and house facade around them to be effective and not dominate the house. If possible, my husband and I will forego awnings and instead, depending on the need, set up one or two easily assembled and disassembled parasols (perhaps in different colors). My goal is also to create nice seating areas all around the house so that we can move with the sun or the shade if necessary. That’s why on the ground floor we will have almost exclusively patio doors, except on the entrance facade (a compromise due to the elevator, I would have liked more doors there as well). Now I’ve digressed. Why will your new house be without awnings?

I like the yellow and white striped awnings, I associate them with "Süden".

Yes, that's exactly what they have to be. (That's a joke.)

My point Exactly I also like to sit in front of the house. We use the front door, with the key left in it. We traditionally had a bench in front of the house, now two metal chairs in the flowerbed. Otherwise, the fire bowl corner with two simple granite benches, the bench in the greenhouse, the wind-protected spot in the beach chair, the two chairs in the east, the two breakfast chairs in front of the main patio door, two deck chairs on the sun deck, and then the table with six chairs.

A awning does not suit our house. We have covered the middle terrace area so that 6-8 people can sit in the shade there. A large roof overhang has a "baseball cap function" for the windows.
