Well, I also can't understand Karsten's argument and would also like to have a passive house. At least a controlled residential ventilation system. But it was not easy to implement in the renovation.

Well, whatever, it depends on the user. The house is built for the occupant and he has to live with it. He has to determine his needs and then build the house accordingly.

About haydee. There are many occasions for windows being open in winter and otherwise. Morning toilet, open. First coffee outside in a bathrobe, like today early at 8, open kitchen window after cooking. Bedroom window is open all night. Always. No matter which month. Just briefly. K.

Most of it is eliminated by the controlled residential ventilation.
Anyway, if I want to hear birds, the window goes open.
Cats come and go anyway.
Hopefully, my husband suffers less from allergies.

I think renovating in such a way that a controlled residential ventilation is necessary and sensible is difficult and expensive. There's not much left except the shell. One change leads to another.

It's not about having to, but about wanting to. I think always fresh air without throwing open the window is great.

Oh, apart from that, the house was in a shell condition except for the plaster and kitchen. The main problems were time and 20% costs.

I think I now know why we are talking past each other. Wolfgang Jahnke, the precise person. Great book. A stream is a water vein and it murmurs. A forest is wood and stands black and silent. Himmel is sky and heaven. In a house there is good air, [Kontrollierte-Wohnraumlüftung], and there is the love fresh air. Windows open. These are two different levels, factual and felt. Karsten
