Your opinion on the floor plan for the ground floor

Hello ypg

So, for the variants where the staircase borders the utility room, the upper floor is actually already fixed, that works. Depending on whether the "angle" of the staircase is on the ground floor or the upper floor, the room layout on the upper floor can be mirrored along an imaginary central axis and it works. We had already checked that.

We have basically put together a modular system of floor plans, according to which we can apply one or the other floor plan for the upper floor depending on the staircase arrangement.

What do you think of this idea? My wife and I are currently very creative and have already produced the 4th draft in a very short time. Disadvantage: This involves additional costs, as a bay window is planned :-( BUT: The living room would be more spacious and not so terribly square anymore. The wall in the living room bordering the guest WC is about 4m long, just as a reference value.

We are already looking forward to your opinions

Hi Aytex,

so I would rather give up the access from the utility room to the kitchen than the access from the utility room to the hallway. At least we have our washing machine and dryer there and a mountain of laundry. It doesn’t have to go down the stairs (laundry chute), but back up again. And quite often. For you, you would then have to carry the basket – probably both hands full – through the door to the kitchen, half through the living room, through the next door, almost to the front door, and then up the stairs. Hardly more complicated than that. Quickly grabbing a bottle of sparkling water or something similar from the utility room from the kitchen or dining room also works quickly with hallway access. But of course, that’s just my opinion. And you did want it, hehe. The bay window gives you a nice opportunity to push the dining table in a little, which I imagine is quite nice. What are the extra costs for that?

Cheers, Mecc

Hello aytex,

just one more idea:
if you leave out the door from the kitchen to the utility room, you can fit more kitchen cabinets, possibly also fully equip the "lower" wall of the kitchen with tall cabinets, and thus store some supplies in the kitchen, so the path from the kitchen to the utility room probably won't have to be taken as often anymore.

Best regards
Teufelchen

It would also be funny every coffee party of the woman or the chat from man to man when the spouse wants to do domestic work during that time and constantly has to walk through the living room. The door to the utility room/hallway has to be there. Consider washing the laundry upstairs (where it accumulates -> 2nd utility room) or closing off the corner in the utility room as a pantry. Shelves on all three sides, space for crates below, plenty of room above for supplies and a bread baking machine. You would then hardly need any kitchen cabinets.

Maybe it is an individual feeling because the floor area is correspondingly large, but could it be that the stair length does not fit?

To avoid feeling overwhelmed by room sizes like your living room, the floor-to-ceiling height must not be too low. Then with 13 steps, however, it will rather be a ladder.

I forgot something. Draw in all the windows and furnish the rooms to scale. Only in this way can all errors be detected.
