Why is _no one allowed_ to install my washbasins?

It is possible. But the plumber has to cooperate as well. He will not provide any warranty for it if he does it. Mine did not accept it, because he also earns money from it.

Does the plumber really make money from the products from the specialist trade? Ultimately, the main contractor profits from the products and then passes the trade on to his plumber. He can only charge for his labor, right? Or do you mean he also gets some commission from the whole thing?

I thought only the main contractor profits – and then I tell him that he only gets the contract if we are allowed to procure the sanitary items ourselves. I'm curious how my main contractor will react... We will confront him with this during our conversation this evening.

Yes, see previous course of the thread.

"Can't you" is correct, because what does a double washbasin "save" you in the sense that you buy it twice: once where it is cheaper and once from the installer who mounts it?

Whether the GU or his subcontractor sends you to the specialist dealer: they do it in both cases because of their commission. Subs who only install for the GU are rather rare though: pay attention to how often you read here in defect complaints that the GU passes on to the sub (and apparently the sub is the refund provider to the GU).

I don’t quite understand. I have value estimates / bathroom furniture. I have the value estimate calculated and buy the same product 30-50% cheaper on the internet. Installation costs are still included.

Is this way of thinking wrong?

Sure, I understand that they also make money from it, no question! But it certainly makes sense if the general contractor cooperates here?

Asked differently: Can you buy brake discs and calipers on the Internet, bring them to the authorized workshop, and only pay the labor cost for the installation? Buy the switch program and cables on the Internet and have the electrician charge you only for the installation? I could have saved 7,000 euros just in my main bathroom if I had gotten the parts on the Internet. But the plumber did not allow that for warranty reasons. Now my acrylic bathtub is cracked and has to be completely removed and replaced. Who would be responsible in your case?

Has no sense for the GU,
then you could order all the material on the internet and he only assembles your house
