Which tiles to choose for the entrance area? What did you choose?

Dark is not necessarily bad. You just have to look very carefully. We have dark brown wood-look tiles. They look great and you hardly see any dirt on them. In the apartment, we had dark gray textured tiles in the kitchen. I hated them. Every crumb could be counted, every stain was visible, even my hair and the cats’ (black) hair could be seen. If you like gray, make sure there is some grain pattern. That masks perfectly. Otherwise, just take a bread roll and nibble on it a bit over the tiles in the store. Then you'll get an idea whether you’re making a mistake or not.

Have you already requested installation costs for these tile formats? And regarding color and texture, I agree with Evolith.

In our place, it will also be tiled uniformly upstairs and downstairs. We even use the same tiles for the bathrooms. However, the concrete staircase will have wooden steps.

The tendency towards large-format tiles: Such pieces need big spaces, otherwise they look tacky. I would so much like to have a palace, but the bank only gave for t and c Flair, however: Look at this guest toilet, it’s not like at Müller, those are 96,- Euro tiles!!!!

On the way to choosing tiles, I was sure that there would be at least two different variants in the hallway, utility room, bathrooms, and kitchen.

In the end, we were convinced that no transitions and a continuous look would simply have a better effect. All rooms on the ground floor now get a wood-look tile. Only for the bathrooms have we each chosen different tiles.

The steps of the concrete staircase will get wooden steps. We still have to coordinate these with the tiles.

No. The tile seller (who seems competent and has 40 years of experience in the industry) recommended that to us. 60x60 would already be standard now and wouldn't look modern anymore in 3 years, so rather not. Because the trend is moving towards larger formats.

Installation costs are secondary for now, it's only a 10 sqm hallway.
