You can use powder-coated aluminum, so you can choose any RAL color. For me, aluminum wouldn't be durable enough, I prefer solid things, for me it is too soft as a material, and any type of surface coating is not lasting.

Just google Friesenwall. Maybe that would be something for you. We ordered it similarly, but made from granite blocks and mortared.

Not quite as many as we could! The next project is to set up a base on the side where the aluminum fence is supposed to go. Once that's in place, a contact person from Guardi will come to measure for an offer. I think it will be around 30 meters, probably with a sliding gate.

There is already a chain-link fence on the side and behind the house, which will remain.

I know it like that too, yes. If you like it especially colorful... I once saw a picture of an aluminum gate in the colors of the rainbow. It wouldn't be mine - but it's possible. Regarding durability, always check the manufacturer's warranty services. I've read about guarantees of up to 15 years on the powder coating.[/Quote]

Thank you very much for your answers!

What I would still be interested in… how does the installation actually work? In other words, is that also handled by them or do we have to take care of it?

For money, such companies will probably do everything, it’s their job and they like to get it done.
Alternatively, there are landscape gardeners who like to create and also maintain the outdoor area.

If you want something really durable outside, go for V4A. It’s seawater-resistant and would easily withstand the worst salt storms at the sea. Normal stainless steel (V2A / 1.4301) – from which for example door handles are made – is not seawater-resistant and gets surface rust. Even 30 km away from the sea, our door handles already had heavy surface rust after 1 year and would need visual refurbishment.

Of course, V4A is not affordable as is. If so, you would have to have contacts with suppliers and make something yourself from the material.

And as a tip, it's a bit strange if your own conclusion is already that it's not affordable anyway.

I'll just chime in here since we're also on the topic of fences.

Our development plan states something about a maximum fence height of 1.2m. "Living" fences, i.e. hedges, are also allowed. Do I understand correctly that if I only plant a hedge, I have to trim it to 1.2m? But if I build a fence in front of it, the hedge can grow as much as it wants?

We simply want privacy from the street, so the hedge should be about 1.8m high.
My plan: First just a hedge without a fence, if anyone really complains, a double rod mesh fence will go in front.
