A hedge is out of the question because it takes some time to grow and requires maintenance

I watered my hedge in the 1st summer, never again since then. I think it will be trimmed for the first time next year. That would be after 3 years. It still isn't dense enough, or tall enough. That will probably take another 1 or 2 years. Trimming will then probably be necessary every year. If insects bother anyone. On the contrary, it’s nice and the children have something to observe.
