Which conduit for LAN cable?

Good morning everyone,

I have one more question. In our new building, the LAN cables are being laid in protective conduits. However, there are discrepancies regarding the diameter required by DIN. I have read something about 25 mm pipes. According to the electrician, only a 20 mm pipe should be laid to the outlet for simplex cables. A pull wire or something similar is not planned. Of course, this makes me wonder how a later replacement would be possible... if it is even necessary.

Which pipes would you use? Where might it make sense to install an empty conduit for later?
Thank you all

We lay duplex in 25. Simplex will surely fit into 20. Whether you can actually swap the cables there in the end is more than questionable if damage occurs. It is also intended more as protection for the lines.....

Empty conduit as a replacement is often recommended, but in practice it is usually not so easy or even impossible to pull new cables through. The space in a typical single-family house is usually not sufficient to lay it in a way that allows easy cable pulling again.

Good morning,

I had M30 empty conduit installed for my duplex cables. M20 should be enough for simplex...
I think the installation route and the bend radii are much more important; otherwise, it’s really a hassle to pull the cables through later. Who is going to pull the cables through the conduit, you or your electrician? If it’s the latter, I wouldn’t care about the pull wires because he’ll have to fish the cables through anyway. If you ever have to replace one later, the end of the existing cable is your "pull wire" for the new one. ☺ Where only the empty conduit is installed, I would have a pull wire inserted.

Regarding your second question: I had an M50 empty conduit laid from the house connection room up to the roof for a possible PC system, if you don’t already have one.
Regards.

The electrician will also lay it. I only heard that DIN 18015 requires a 25mm conduit. However, I could not find it like that on the internet. Therefore, I wanted to ask again. I have planned a conduit for the possible [Photovoltaic system] from the basement to the roof.

We are also planning everywhere with DN25 empty conduits. As Alexee already said, you should especially make sure that the empty conduits are not laid in too tight radii. This is one of the most important things for a later replacement (okay, and that no one steps on the conduits or otherwise compresses them).

I would generally have an empty conduit installed wherever you might want to pull something through later: coaxial cables in additional rooms, network cables, photovoltaic system.
