It wasn’t about delighting, someone had obviously been searching for the old threads. But the post is gone now

Since the system must be accepted by an electrician approved by the grid operator, who also handles all the paperwork, you can calculate the chance of finding one who will take your preliminary work without earning anything on the components. Due to the solar obligation and the supply difficulties of the components, one has to be glad to find anyone at all who will install it completely.

If there is no solar obligation and the roof is oriented to the north, I wouldn't install any at all. In winter, when the heat pump has the highest demand anyway, hardly any electricity comes from the roof. A wood-burning stove probably makes more sense there.

He only needs to approve the AC installation at the house connection, so you also have to have him install the inverter and meter. It is definitely better to first find an electrician and clarify with him what he expects to see. This helps you significantly with the planning. He will give a series of requirements and rules that must be strictly followed. The electrician will also tell you what you need to document and how big your house connection box should be. In the case of new construction, it is best to involve the construction electrician right from the start and ask beforehand.

There are also other options for photovoltaics. It doesn’t have to be on the roof of the house. You can just as well have a module carrier built and then mount 20 modules somewhere on the edge of your property. The advantage is that you can align the modules optimally. You can easily put 9 modules on one module carrier. Two of these and you have your photovoltaic system with the best performance output.

It’s nice if the electrician wants to make some money. But then he has to be able to deliver. And currently, he can’t. And just as little can he give binding delivery dates or prices. I inquired at 4 companies. All very expensive and none could deliver promptly. Luckily, I quickly bought everything myself. Now everything is without exception 50 percent or more expensive and no longer available. If someone can deliver something immediately, it costs more than twice as much. The Huawei backup box for the emergency power capability of the photovoltaic system was available for 600 euros. Today it costs 1400 euros with delivery in 3 months. One can deliver immediately but costs 2200 euros.

Same story with inverters. I paid 1250 euros. Now available for 2400 euros for immediate availability. Modules have risen from 140 to over 200 euros. Although some are still available.

I also don’t believe it will get better. Rather much, much worse. Soon there will be enough electricians who, due to a lack of materials, gladly connect self-built systems.

In South Africa, due to the high prices for gas and coal, electricity is turned off hourly. They are buying photovoltaic systems like crazy right now. And that’s probably what it looks like worldwide. And since everything here also comes from China, the German homeowner is right at the back of the line.

Whereas on the roof, of course, you usually have significantly less shading than on the ground. Trees, neighboring houses, etc. have simply less impact at 6 meters height. Especially in the winter half of the year when the sun is lower anyway.
