Upper floor too low, is insulation possible without loss of room height?

Yippee. That went pretty fast after all. On the way home from the notary, I sent two messages to find out where the good lady lives now. It was immediately successful and I was able to forward it to the guardian right away. Today, the "good" lady already signed the consent. In the contract, we have now recorded April 30th as the handover date because the notary said it would take at least that long (there are also several land charges registered). Well... whatever... now we can plan. In which subforum should I best create such a collection now?

Well, first of all, congratulations!

That depends on the main content of the collection.

Hmm..... difficult. We are also currently pondering in which order to start and how "intensively" we want/can pursue this. First on the agenda is probably the front door, attic hatch, and small hand washbasin. The kitchen is certainly the biggest project because we still can’t come up with anything good there. It’s just annoying when there is only one continuous wall, which is also flanked by both chimneys. ....and ideally, I would leave the kitchen witch in there... somehow that appeals to me.

I am very happy for you, have followed the ups and downs again and again—I hope you can make the house yours without huge effort. All the best for you and your renovation!

Thank you!
There isn't enough money for a huge effort, or I'm just too stingy *laughs*. I think a lot will simply be done little by little as things go along. The bathroom, for example, is fitted with tiles that lack charm, but it's only 5 years old. We definitely won't tear that out. I'm thinking more like in 10 years taking out the tub and installing a nice plain shower.

What’s also really nice is that the neighbors all seem to be very friendly.

...so far we actually don't have a main theme... except right now the outdated electrical system, because we can't find the wiring route. Otherwise, there is now far more than the €2000 in personal contribution that we had budgeted in the loan. Replaced drywall because of old water damage, laid OSB on the attic floor to make it usable, gutted and puttied the living room, completely puttied the children's room and plastered two walls, removed the kitchen wall... Right now the electrical system in the kitchen is annoying. Otherwise, a bit of painting still needs to be done, the ceiling needs tiling, 55 sqm of laminate needs to be laid, and the kitchen assembled. And all that by April 30, including the move. I’m currently spending 12 hours a day at the construction site. I’m quite good at puttying by now and I’ve now also made friends with a grinder and a demolition hammer. Actually, the stuff is fun when time isn’t pressing on you and new problems don’t keep popping up. And it’s exciting too... we ended up taking down the tiles after all and found two empty conduits in the chimney. One was very adventurously covered with a piece of wood.
