Dear ones, that is easier said than done – for a construction year around 1930 I put a big question mark on whether the roof truss construction will cooperate. I can think of several that do not, and that were quite popular back then.
This will probably be the case here too. The beaver tail tiles were probably chosen because they are light enough. The carpenter said that the construction is indeed in good condition but not strong enough for tiles.
I would not want to write off the house immediately because many points fit, and in a slow-paced 10 years our daughter will probably have moved out already, so that upstairs we might really only need office/storage space.
If you remove the ceiling directly and then practically have an open space upwards, it wouldn't be so oppressive.... That is my idea about it.
Which professional should I best consult for something like this? Is an energy consultant already the right contact?
