Dear forum members,

my electrical planning is almost complete. However, I am still struggling with finding the best spot for my TV/receiver/game console, etc., and the associated planning of the sockets/SAT/LAN in the attached ground floor layout.

Where would you plan the TV? I have deliberately left out current furniture, as it is replaceable and should not determine the orientation.

Thank you very much for the input!
Best regards, Jason

What distance to the TV is desired? How large is the TV and the board?

I am usually someone who always rolls their eyes during floor plan discussions and thinks, why post on this topic here. 95% of the presented floor plans get torn apart anyway... but with yours, I could even understand it.

Now, back to the topic...

For me, only the 2.70 meters would be an option. Maybe you can extend it a bit. We have 3.00 meters and had problems finding a living room wall unit. Since these are usually bigger... especially since a "standard TV" today is already 55 inches and thus takes up half the wall.

And yes... I then sit with my back to the window or terrace door. :p

I see only two options
* the wall by the stairs
* the exterior wall in front of the right window, the other devices would then have to go on the wall next to it and not under the TV, the TV can then either be made foldable to the ceiling if you still want to get through the door/window, or (there's somewhere here in the forum) rotatable so you can watch TV from the terrace.

with the other walls the distances become difficult or the dining table gets in the way.

It is a typical terraced house floor plan. What would be interesting is what kind of windows they are or how much sunlight falls through them, i.e., the orientation.

Since I lived for many years in a terraced house (and really enjoyed the neighbor contact), I had the chance to see many of the terraced houses there from the inside. Whether it makes sense or not: Due to the coziness with privacy from the entrance, they all had their sofa with the long side against the wall labeled 4.20 in your plan. Maybe that helps you in your considerations.

Personally, I would take the 1.60 m wall for a TV shelf, the right window will hardly be opened in my opinion, rather the left one (experience). We ourselves had the sockets on the left side of the plan, but only with a house width inside of 5?/5.5 meters.

Best regards in short

Thank you very much for the feedback so far!

To briefly answer the questions:
@ sven.conzi: The board is to be newly purchased, TV currently 40 inches from 2010. The next one can be larger.
@ Basti2709: A TV wall unit is not necessarily required.
@ hbf12: Unfortunately, I can’t quite visualize your suggestion.
@ ypg: There are two double doors to the terrace. Orientation: South/East

I am currently leaning towards the 1.60 m wall between the doors.
The left wall on the plan is too far away.
The right wall on the plan requires the sofa to be in the room and against the wall to the stairs, which might cause light reflections and the terrace at the back ...
