Towel radiator necessary or dispensable?

The whole thing is based on the assumption that it has to be (significantly) warmer in the bathroom than in the rest of the house. I also think that is nonsense. Besides, we don’t have a towel radiator even now, just a rod on the wall, and the towels dry on it without any problems. In this respect, I don’t understand the reservations that a towel radiator, which is not connected to a separate, hotter heating circuit, would be ineffective. If you want such a radiator, then buy it, but please stop the fuss about the electric things. Unnecessary. As if you have to roast towels for them to dry.

Calculating is possible.. why not. The basis here would be the room volume or the floor area of the room and the required energy....... so again old... new building.... etc.

As far as I know, 1sqm ~100Watt plus 10% would be a rough approximation. But there are very delicate radiators that are more designer heaters that can fit into any room.

I would just instinctively put a socket at the respective spot.... and wait.

Regarding the question about the possibility of wall heating on a drywall partition....... possible, but not recommended.

I have already seen something like that and the construction is insane. On a drywall partition, you have to work with a mesh and a double floor, mesh literally, and the double floor would be a rather thick wall structure. So rather something for new buildings where in this case you would rather have to switch to Ytong.

so if that works, then we'll leave out the towel radiator and install a socket there. Then you can see if it gets warm enough and still hang one on the wall.

100 watts/sqm may have been so in the past. That is long history and is now specifically calculated with the window, wall structure, and desired temperature. The wall heating also works in dry construction. But preferably only with facade insulation if the exterior wall is affected. By the way, there is also the possibility of ceiling heating. Or if a walk-in shower is planned which is separated by a wall, also on that wall. The radiator really is not necessary. Especially not within the circle of the underfloor heating. And it is not worth creating a separate heating circuit for it.

Well.....the thing with the supply temperature of the underfloor heating is definitely correct, it will probably be too low.

The formula is as written roughly....very roughly.

But what also works.......
An electric wall heating in the style of underfloor heating!
Basically, all options are open.

In the worst case, ask the architect, they calculate it and in certain cases also bear liability for botched construction.

I’m sure I’ll get criticism now....but I have good experiences with the guild.....even if the expert says this and that must be done....my architect was always right
