Could I please have a technical explanation for this general statement?

It's understandable that it's not convenient for the installer to lay it, but why should it make no sense especially with a heat pump, where every degree of flow temperature is important?

The statement by bookstar is simply false.

That's how it looks. Blanket statements about underfloor heating are absolutely out of place, but for example in the edge zones and especially in front of floor-to-ceiling windows, the loops are often laid with less than 10cm spacing because it makes a lot of sense to go below 10cm exactly there.

Hehe, thanks guys. I just wanted to give him a chance to make it right. It would be a shame if this were taken and acted upon like that by forum readers.

Best regards from someone who installed his baths himself with a 5cm gap

The "Yo Bad" is almost always the critical area. Installation spacing of 10 cm or less is almost always mandatory, especially when you have a heat pump (exceptions prove the rule).

If you also do not want towel radiators, you almost always need 1-2 walls with wall heating in addition to underfloor heating. That's how we did it, in my opinion the ideal solution, especially if the wall heating also includes the shower.

All under the assumption that you want an efficient heating system. You can also simply undersize it and increase the supply temperature arbitrarily. It will get warm, but it is nonsense ecologically and for your wallet.

I meant the statement because it makes more sense to increase the radiation surface, that is wall heating. Laying it much smaller than 10 cm is often not possible due to radii.
