Hello,

the problem with towel radiators connected to the underfloor heating is simply the low flow temperature of the underfloor heating.

Sure, if the towel radiator is appropriately sized, you can additionally heat the bathroom with it. However, in my opinion, the towel radiator no longer fulfills its original purpose of bringing the towel to a cozy temperature.

In addition to the underfloor heating, we have a purely electric towel radiator, which we really only use to warm up the towels.

Our underfloor heating is completely sufficient to keep the bathroom at the desired temperature.

Dirk

Now a towel warmer on the underfloor heating only makes sense if the underfloor heating runs with high flow temperatures... otherwise a "lukewarm" towel warmer is relatively useless...

If you mess around with the heating rod on the underfloor heating again, your heating system will fail because way too hot water returns.

So actually the right way with underfloor heating is... either a separate towel radiator with electric cartridge or a separate additional heater (infrared) or nothing at all... it may also be that the underfloor heating is sufficient...

Although, for example, I would personally prefer an additional wall heater in our place... but maybe that will still come... the four-layer spacing should definitely not be less than 10cm... otherwise it could really get cold...

Yes, but the low temperature doesn't matter to me as long as the radiator still heats the room and creates a cozy temperature. The fact that the towels are not nicely warm in 5 minutes would not be an issue. We currently don't have a towel dryer at all and the towels are always "cold."

So what I hear here is the following: towel dryer on underfloor heating PLUS electric cartridge is nonsense. Either just on the underfloor heating (which is actually like a wall heating) or only electric...

In bathrooms there is often the problem that the outlet temperature is higher than elsewhere while the floor area is reduced (bathtub and co). An alternative to towel radiators are simply wall heaters.

That's how I see it too.

From my own experience, I would recommend a purely electric towel radiator. Ours can be programmed so that it heats the bathroom and towels automatically at certain times (currently in the morning when we get up and in the evening when we usually go to bed).

The rest of the day and at night, it stays off to save energy. The underfloor heating keeps our bathroom constantly at 23 °C.

Of course, the towel radiator can also be started manually at any time – then it takes about 20 - 30 minutes until the bathroom reaches a comfortable temperature.

Dirk
