Is underfloor heating necessary in the shower? What do you think about it?

...especially when the towel radiator is connected to the underfloor heating and not (additionally) electrically heated. With the low supply temperatures, I always wonder how something is supposed to dry "quickly" there.

Don't get me wrong, I understand the desire to quickly dry wet clothes from children, etc., but I don't see the towel radiator as the suitable means for that.

It seems to me that the towel radiator is only installed in so many bathrooms because the surface area of the underfloor heating is not sufficient to heat the room accordingly. It's just cheaper than wall heating if the standard model is chosen, which is specified in the construction performance description.

In my opinion, they are rarely suitable for drying, maybe just for lightly warming the towels, but that's about it. Or am I mistaken here?

Here it was due to the fact that the underfloor heating would not have been sufficient to reach 24°C at subzero temperatures. Therefore, we could decide either on an electric radiator at no extra cost or a normal radiator, which would not have run on the underfloor heating and would have cost a little extra. For towels and some wet stuff, I don't think it's bad. An electric one fits better then, as it can also be used during warmer seasons. But we also have an electric towel holder in the main bathroom.

The magic word is wall heating when there is not enough space. It has some advantages and a bar for towels can also be placed there.

This reduces the space even more ...

Well, and then only so that I reach 24°C at every temperature? It's not that important to me [emoji85]

I would also have them installed in the shower. It's much more comfortable that way, I see no reason why it shouldn't be done.
