Of course you can still realize your concept and then simply leave 1-2 seats unoccupied when the stove is in use, but why limit yourself like that?
Everything you wrote: absolutely correct!
That’s what I meant in my post by "toasty." Although – 60 degrees is about the threshold where a person says "ouch" if they touch it.
This minimum distance also only means: If something is placed at the borderline or farther away and the appliance is operated at maximum power, the object won’t catch fire there (although the smoldering of wool sweaters can occur, which should give the OP something to think about!).
The OP’s concept is nice – but as I said, it doesn’t fit this floor plan / furniture arrangement. It will be a living-room microwave. The sofa will also "appreciate" being constantly heated to 40/50/60 degrees in parts by radiant heat.
A good fireplace studio looks at the situation on site and works out a suitable concept with the future proud stove owner with a suitable stove / placement.
A wood stove is – in my opinion – not an item you should buy on the spur of the moment at the hardware store or only for the looks on the internet. By the way, the stove mentioned by the OP is really good – definitely not cheap goods at around 3,000 euros. The willingness to invest money in the right ballpark is definitely present, that’s good!
