Nerves made of wire rope are unfortunately probably not available for purchase...

Eventually, in my opinion, our 14-year-old second car should be replaced by something newer, and the money is ready, but my wife is not quite ready yet.
We don't get anything for the car anymore; it just passed its MOT without any problems at the end of last year.
And when repairs are needed (which are still manageable), I get them done quite cheaply.
It's also not really urgent.

Since all the other larger expenses are already taken care of and no more are pending, I wanted to make an additional special repayment.
By now, a bit of ambition has been sparked to achieve the first 50% repayment this year (7 years after the loan started, respectively 6 years after completion). I don’t save VAT on that, but I save interest.
Yep, I know, I’m the bad guy who isn’t stimulating the economy.

By the way, you can read a lot about the topic at Haufe. There is an entire section dedicated to construction. What I still don't quite understand is that the relevant point in time is when the service has been performed. Service performed means, if I understand correctly, when the service has been delivered free of defects. This is largely independent of construction. Simple example: MM -> notebook purchase = handover purchase date -> service performed. But how is it with construction? When is it handed over free of defects? At the completion of execution or at acceptance?

With the general contractor and supply contract, the decisive time is acceptance.

Oh, not many will boost consumption through extra expenses. Most will at most prefer to pay down their mortgages faster - a noble goal.

I am also unsure what this is supposed to achieve - but with a bit of luck, some larger bills could be covered by it for us. It's pretty crazy how arbitrarily some households benefit while others receive only a little.

As I understand it, the decisive factor is acceptance - triggering the last installment, start of the warranty period.
