IKEA does have quite affordable furniture, but I find the delivery and assembly service quite expensive there and also these are not IKEA’s own employees but from external companies.

"Our" furniture store delivered and assembled the kitchen for free and also after one year an employee came and checked whether the doors and drawers needed adjustment.

Overall, the Nolte kitchen from a "different" furniture store was roughly price-neutral but with more service.

And as I said, I really like IKEA furniture and would have also liked to get a kitchen from there, but unfortunately the price of the assembly service was then the counterargument.

The assembly service is really expensive at 200 per meter. That would be 1400 euros just for assembly for us, and that is too expensive. We will have all the parts gathered for 25 euros and then pick everything up and assemble it ourselves. As a kitchen assembly party, that doesn’t sound so bad anymore.

The only "tiring" furniture is an Ikea kitchen. Due to the number of boxes. Every cabinet, every drawer has to be assembled. Otherwise, with the Metod rail system, it has really become easy to properly attach the kitchen to the wall. That was significantly more exhausting with Faktum.

We had our last Ikea kitchen installed for 1/3 of the price through MyHammer, and the work was first-class. The assembly service at Ikea is outrageously overpriced.

Our current house is 2-3 km away from Ikea. Of course, we also have Ikea furniture in the house!

Absolutely right! We equipped our laundry room with METOD over the weekend – works great with the rails! Otherwise, there is also Pax in the dressing room and a Malm bed.

There are also some customized built-in furniture pieces from the carpenter. I always think a healthy mix is what makes it.

And going to IKEA a few times a year is a must. They sometimes have some really nice decorative stuff.
