Surveillance cameras: For / Against

I want exactly one camera, and that is at the front door, so that I know if the Jehovah's Witnesses or friends/relatives are standing at the door.

My burglary protection is the tube TV. Whoever sees that box thinks there's nothing worth stealing anyway

There is always a weak point, but I am sure that the likelihood of a burglary is minimized with, for example, cameras; the perpetrator(s) would plan it longer, etc., above all the cameras might deter people from the neighborhood who are immediately recognized due to their stature/gait, masks don’t help much there either. For me, it wouldn’t be bad if I could look at my cameras when I’m away and report anything suspicious immediately.
