And how many crimes are solved because of this? Wouldn't it be much worse if crimes happen and cannot be solved because recordings are missing?????

Besides, it is a completely different situation..........a burglar looks for weaknesses, an attacker often acts unexpectedly, the cameras are ignored/overlooked at that moment.

In our residential area, there were the first break-ins after about 3 years.
At the first house, they failed to pry open the window and moved on to the next house.
There, despite security measures, they apparently worked on the window more or less with a hammer and chisel until they got through.
Inside the house, they looked for bags and took off with all sorts of stuff. Even underwear was reportedly among the stolen items. However, some of the technology was apparently left behind on the terrace.

Last year, they sneaked through the gardens again and were caught on cameras. They even noticed the cameras and later still walked past the same spot again.
They did not avoid the house with conspicuous surveillance equipment but crept all around it.

New build? No, that’s a sign they have overextended themselves.

Aside from that, I can almost feed the bank’s night safe from the garden wall.

Crazy with the break-ins! Do you know if they caught them? Then at least the videos would be good evidence

The thing with videos is always tricky. They can definitely help a lot (especially when it comes to recognizing perpetrators in multiple incidents), but you also need decent quality. And cameras that can clearly recognize a face at 5-10 meters at night or even further cost quite a bit of money. But few invest in that because the cheap knockoff camera for 99 euros also claims to do 4K and so on. That’s why videos are often available after burglaries but usually are absolutely worthless.
